Strolling Elkhorn Avenue

Take a walk down Elkhorn Avenue and you'll quickly see why it's the heart of town. It's lined with hundreds of unique shops, many featuring goods crafted right here in Colorado. Watch glassblowers at work at Patterson Glassworks, or browse through beautifully crafted pottery and jewelry at Earthwood Artisans. If you're looking for home accents, Trendz is always a great stop.

From picking up a cozy mountain sweater to grabbing a box of our famous saltwater taffy to take home, there's always something new to discover just minutes from the resort.

A Taste of the Rockies

After a day on the trails, downtown Estes Park has some fantastic spots to unwind and grab a great meal. For a memorable date night, we love recommending Seasoned—they do an incredible job sourcing ingredients from local Colorado farms.

If you're in the mood for something comforting and familiar, you'll find great riverside patios and longtime staples like Mama Rose's Italian. And of course, no evening stroll is complete without stopping by the Munchin House for a scoop of homemade ice cream.

The Riverwalk & Town Trails

When you want to step away from the bustle of the main street, just head down to the Estes Park Riverwalk. This paved, tree-lined path weaves behind the shops right where the Fall and Big Thompson rivers meet—it's the perfect spot for a leisurely morning walk. Keep an eye out for the twelve little bronze pika sculptures hidden along the way!

If you want a quick nature fix without leaving town, the Knoll Willows Open Space is a gentle mile-long loop that passes by historic old cabins just up the hill. For an unforgettable aerial perspective, the Estes Park Aerial Tramway is located right by downtown and carries you to the top of Prospect Mountain for panoramic views of the entire valley.

The Craft Beverage Scene

Colorado is known for its great breweries, and Estes Park certainly holds its own. Grab a pint at Estes Park Brewery, our longest-running spot, or enjoy a sunny afternoon on the patio at Rock Cut Brewery.

If you prefer a glass of wine, Snowy Peaks Winery serves up wonderful Colorado-grown varietals right in town. Or, end your evening at Elkins Distilling to try their signature white whisky.

Heritage & Timeless Landmarks

Estes Park Museum

Estes Park has a rich pioneer history that you can still feel today. You can learn all about the area's early days at the Estes Park Museum, or check out the local library to read up on Old Man Mountain—the historic landmark you can hike right to from our property.

Take a minute to appreciate the old architecture downtown, or catch an evening movie at the Historic Park Theatre, which is actually one of the oldest operating theaters in the country. Between the historic cabins and the elk that still wander through the town parks, it's easy to feel connected to the roots of the Rockies.
